We have some simple rules that we expect out of people on our server. Since common sense doesn't come easy to some, I am going to list a few of the rules here.

1) Use auto join, it does work.
2)If your the last to join and teams are not even fix them.
3) Do not come to our server to scrim the pubbers, in other words please don't stack teams.
4) Please don't call racist or vulgar names.
5)Please do not use racist or cuss words for nicks.
6)Do not tk on purpose, this is grounds for a ban!

Doing these thing will result to kicks or even bans.

I just upgraded to a new motherboard and wiped my drive. I looked all over the place for the teamspeak server connection info and it's gone.

I have come across some people who think they have the right to play on my server. It seems to me Hotties 6th floor is paid for by me "Hottlipz" in case you didn't know. I have the right to ban anyone at anytime for reasons that do not matter if I choose. I usually do not ban for no reason at all.

Recently a guy got banned because of a email that was sent to me showing me screenshots of the console where the guy typed in some kind of exec aim_somethinghere <--example only. Well after a few months go by I see him on my server and I ban him. Instead of him being nice and telling my about his so called joke he proceeds to tell me I need to unban him NOW on my ts2. Well thats not how I work. So a few days go by and the guy keeps saying stupid remarks in MY channel on IRC and I ignore them, till he directly starts in at me. Anyway to make a long story short he gets banned there too.

My point here is this is my place to have fun and if you make me not have fun on my server then you will be removed too. I have added one more ban this morning over this situation. You guys can keep playing games and trash talking me all you want, but when you pay the kind of money I do for a server then you will understand.

The hack unlocks another Quake3 development command in memory.
By using it the player can do the following:

*** enable cheating within all ranges of all possible frauds
without disturbing others or to be gotten

Implementing is really simple: bring up console and
execute the command "quit".

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm the founder of the Anti-Mr. Sentry Society. In this letter, I will tell you what made me form such an organization and how I plan to use it to fight the warped, distorted, misshapen, unwholesome monstrosity that Mr. Sentry's views have become. Let's get down to brass tacks: Sentry has a talent for inventing fantasy worlds in which I'm too intrusive to get the facts out in the hope that somebody will do something to solve the problem. Then again, just because Sentry is a prolific fantasist doesn't mean that it's inappropriate to teach children right from wrong. In essence, his secret passion is to encourage slimy hedonists to see themselves as victims and, therefore, live by alibis rather than by honest effort. For shame!

What our nation needs is more respect for the law, not less. Well, that's getting away from my main topic, which is that I, not being one of the many crapulous harijans of this world, cannot believe how many actual, physical, breathing, thinking people have fallen for his subterfuge. I'm utterly stunned. It seems to me that Sentry is both smarmy and illiterate. Now there's a dangerous combination if I've ever seen one. He uses the word "pharmacodynamic" without ever having taken the time to look it up in the dictionary. People who are too lazy to get their basic terms right should be ignored, not debated. From a public-policy perspective, mankind needs to do more to tell you a little bit about him and his ignominious reports. Understand, I am not condemning mankind for not doing enough; I am merely stating that Sentry should pay for his mistakes. I don't think anyone questions that. But did you know that there is nothing he wants more than to fill the air with recrimination and rancor?

If he can't be reasoned out of his prejudices, he must be laughed out of them. If he can't be argued out of his selfishness, he must be shamed out of it. Let me try to put this in perspective: I once told Sentry that he doesn't believe in the right to free speech, except for people who agree with him. How did he respond to that? He proceeded to curse me off using a number of colorful expletives not befitting this letter, which serves only to show that Sentry would have us believe that anyone who dares to stop defending the neo-corrupt status quo and, instead, implement a bold, new agenda for change can expect to suffer hair loss and tooth decay as a result. Yeah, right. Isn't it true that his pronouncements represent a calculated assault on diversity within our community? If that's not true, tell me why not. If we contradict Sentry, we are labelled barbaric pothouse drunks. If we capitulate, however, we forfeit our freedoms.

It should come as no shock to anyone that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Of course, if Sentry had learned anything from history, he'd know that most of you reading this letter have your hearts in the right place. Now follow your hearts with actions. He is still going around insisting that he holds a universal license that allows him to justify, palliate, or excuse the evils of his heart. Jeez, I thought I had made it perfectly clear to him that the acid test for his "kinder, gentler" new scribblings should be, "Do they still inject Sentry's lethal poison into our children's minds and souls?" If the answer is yes, then we can conclude that this is not wild speculation. This is not a conspiracy theory. This is documented fact.

I want to make this clear, so that those who do not understand deeper messages embedded within sarcastic irony -- and you know who I'm referring to -- can process my point. As I understand it, Sentry thinks it would be a great idea to pull the levers of faddism and oil the gears of absolutism. Even if we overlook the logistical impossibilities of such an idea, the underlying premise is still flawed. I respect the English language and believe in the use of words as a means of communication. Viperine, evil shirkers like him, however, consider spoken communication as merely a set of noises uttered to excite emotions in sanctimonious uninformed-types in order to convince them to render unspeakable and unthinkable whole categories of beliefs about power. If you were to try to tell Sentry's satraps that he can't be trusted, they'd close their eyes and put their hands over their ears. They are, as the psychologists say, in denial. They don't want to hear that someone has been giving Sentry's brain a very thorough washing, and now Sentry is trying to do the same to us. He is sincerely up to something. I don't know exactly what, but it doesn't do us much good to become angry and wave our arms and shout about the evils of Sentry's circulars in general terms. If we want other people to agree with us and join forces with us, then we must build a true community of spirit and purpose based on mutual respect and caring.

In theory, Sentry is essentially describing a situation that does not exist. But in reality, Sentry thinks he can impress us by talking about "undemonstrativeness this" and "anatomicophysiologic that". At the risk of sounding a tad redundant, let me add that Sentry should not encumber the religious idea with too many things of a purely earthly nature and thus bring religion into a totally unnecessary conflict with science. Not now, not ever. If I had to choose the most bloodthirsty specimen from his welter of nugatory gabble, it would have to be his claim that society is screaming for his mottos. It may be coincidence that Sentry's obiter dicta help prolix fugitives evade capture by the authorities. It may be coincidence that they portray impetuous, illogical Neanderthals as nebbishes. And it may be coincidence that they demonstrate an outright hostility to law enforcement. But that's a lot of coincidence!

To be fair, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to detect the subtext of this letter. But just in case it's too subliminal for some, let me thrust it into your face right here: Sentry is driving me nuts. I can't take it anymore! He takes things out of context, twists them around, and then neglects to provide decent referencing so the reader can check up on him. Sentry also ignores all of the evidence that doesn't support (or in many cases directly contradicts) his position. You may not understand this now, and I don't fault you for that, but I wouldn't want to poke and pry into every facet of our lives. I would, on the other hand, love to challenge the present and enrich the future. But, hey, I'm already doing that with this letter. We mustn't let Sentry promulgate partisan prejudice against others. That would be like letting the Mafia serve as a new national police force in Italy.

It is immature and stupid of him to mold your mind and have you see the world not as it is, but as he wants you to see it. It would be mature and intelligent, however, to throw down the gauntlet and challenge his allies to comment on a phenomenon that has and will continue to send the wrong message to children, and that's why I say that no matter what else we do, our first move must be to educate everyone about how most of his writings are thesis-less runarounds that leave the reader unclear as to both his point and his position on the issue. That's the first step: education. Education alone is not enough, of course. We must also demonstrate conclusively that I'm bewildered by the shallow nature of his Ponzi schemes. No one has a higher opinion of Sentry than I, and I think he's a wily, filthy beast. I don't want to build castles in the air. I don't want to plan things that I can't yet implement. But I do want to mention a bit about abominable, hidebound charlatans such as Sentry, because doing so clearly demonstrates how this is yet to be comprehended by most frowzy nobodies. The best example of this, culled from many, would have to be the time he tried to violate the basic tenets of journalism and scholarship.

He exhibits bad sportsmanship. But the problems with his long-term goals don't end there. I find that I am embarrassed. Embarrassed that some people just don't realize that paternalism is not merely an attack on our moral fiber. It is also a politically motivated attack on knowledge. We have come full-circle. We can therefore extrapolate that Sentry thinks that going through the motions of working is the same as working. However, the same poisonous spirit that infects unrestrained self-proclaimed arbiters of taste and standards also pollutes Sentry's thinking.

Don't let yourself be persuaded by insufferable maniacs who secretly want to raise extortionate demands. It is clear from what I have already written that you don't have to say anything specifically about Sentry for him to start attacking you. All you have to do is dare to imply that we should help others to see through the empty and meaningless statements uttered by him and his apostles. In short, I would like nothing more than to confront and reject all manifestations of separatism.

So, I'm experimenting with some scripting and need some input...
I came across this script that allows you to toggle between several "taunts" or "greetings", basically chatter over global chat. This script tells you via "echo" which greeting or taunt series you have toggled to but then just takes the next greeting/taunt in the Q and displays it when you hit a different bind. (basically two binds, one to toggle and one to "send")

I'm trying to modify this script to give me the ability to toggle between all the different ut_radio commands/responses so that I can have them ALL in one, two, or three convenient binds. So far this is what I've done, but when I try to exec it in game (on a server with no one but me on it) I always get an error...I know the script isn't finished, but there should be enough there to make it work...I think?

can we get some kind of frozensand backing at quakecon this year? im not lookin for money but something to make it official. The game (i feel at least) is dying and I think we need a revival. Quakcon can be our revival.
If we are backed by frozensand development then we can do whatever we want and represent the community well.
Hopefully we can make have a urt competition in the byob area this year (I will pay for prizes). Maybe burn hundreds of cds with the game on it to pass out. Something to show off urban terror with the HUGE bonus that its FREE.
Let me know what you think and what we can do.

Dear Cat Owner,

Following are instructions on the best way to bathe your cat:

1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.

2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water, and have both lids lifted.

3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

4. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape). CAUTION: Don't get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out to grab anything they can find. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from your toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides a "powerwash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.

6. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside where he will dry himself.

DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture...Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors,I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this On their bed.

DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was... Not working according to plan.

DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still LODGED between my teeth.

DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their ccomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event, however, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer.." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and he speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my acctivities. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait, it is only a matter of time...

Hey YO! BF2 Version 1.03 has been released, for a list of download mirrors, go here:

I added v1.03 to my ASE filter so version 1.03 show up.
Do the following to add v1.03 to your list (or wait for ASE to come out with one... ha):

1. Browse to your 'The All-Seeing Eye' folder (Default location - C:\Program Files\The All-Seeing Eye)

2. Open filters.txt with Notepad

3. Make sure the Notepad Status Bar is on, do this by clicking View in the Menu bar up top.

4. In the filters.txt, find 'Line 2684, Col 1 (This shows in the bottom right of your Notepad Status Bar).

5. Copy/Paste the following:

Battlefield 2\Version\1.03
Group: BF2VER
Mutex: BF2VER
1 if gamever != "1.1.2551.0" remove

6. Make sure you have it looking similar to the other filter code showing above and belowing (different version numbers of course... duh), having a space between each group.

I installed ver. 4.0 and it worked greatâ€¦ until I updated PB. I did so via the pb site. When I enter the 6^th server I get kicked out, the following message appears: â€œServer Disconnect â€“ has been kicked via punkbuster (for 0 minutes) â€¦ Restriction: Inadequate O/S privileges. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate â€“ 32 bit version. I am an admin. Really want to start playing again..... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I want a headset that has the 3.5mm plug not this usb crap.
What do you guys have or what do you recommend?
I found some that have 8 speakers in them and they look cool but im not sure if they are really functional?

RULES

The Air Guitar World Championships and all the qualifying competitions organised within its authority will comply with the following rules:

1. The instrument of an Air Guitar player must be invisible, i.e. air.
2. An Air Guitarist may play an electric guitar or an acoustic one - or both.
3. Each competitor must participate in a qualifying round (excluding the Champion of the previous year and the winners of official qualifying countries, who have direct access to the final) to compete for a place in the final.
4. The winner of the previous year has direct access to the final, should he/she wish to defend the Championship title.
In the qualifying competition the competitors perform a one-minute-long song of their own choice. The judges select the best competitors from the qualifying competition into the final, so that a total of 12-20 Air Guitar players play in the final (including the previous Champion and winners of national qualifying competitions).
5. In the final the competitors perform two one-minute rounds:
- Compulsory song (1 minute), which is the same for all the competitors and which the competitors will not hear until right before the final.
- Song of own choice (1 minute). The competitors must bring their personally selected song with them on a CD. The competitor may edit the song beforehand so that it lasts one minute, or alternatively let the organisers know the point from which to start playing the song.
6. Personal Air Roadies are allowed.
Backing groups - real or Air Groups - are not allowed.
The dress code for an Air Guitar player is free and he/she may use additional props in any way he/she desires.
An Air Guitar player may use a real pick or play by strumming or finger picking.
7. Judges
The jury of the Air Guitar World Championships is selected by the Board of the Oulu Music Video Festival. The organizers give the following directions to the judges before they begin their work: Criteria for evaluation: originality, the ability to be taken over by the music, stage charisma, technique, artistic impression and airness. The performances are scored with the figure skating scoring method, i.e. the judges give points on a scale from 4.0 to 6.0. The scores from the judges are added together and the person with the most points wins. If two or more contestants end up having the same score, they have to play an extra round. The contestant who scores the most points in the extra round wins the championship. If the result is a tie also after the extra round, the one who scored most points in the Compulsory Round of the competitors concerned, is considered to win. If these results are also equal, the competitors concerned will be considered tied. .
The jury evaluates the competitors according to their own judgment and taste.
The decisions of the jury are final.
8. Participation
Participation in the Air Guitar World Championships is open to the citizens of all countries. If an official national qualifying competition is arranged in the Air Guitar player's home country, the competitor must participate in it.
The organisers of the official national qualifying competitions will pay for the winner of the competition to travel to Oulu and represent his/her country in the Air Guitar World Championships. The winners of the official national qualifying competitions have direct access to the final of the Air Guitar World Championships, i.e. they do not participate in the qualifying arranged in Oulu.
The citizens of countries where no official qualifying competitions are arranged, can enter the qualifying competition arranged in Oulu by sending in an entry form and paying an annually determined participation fee by an announced deadline date. On the basis of the qualifying competition in Oulu, 12-20 best Air Guitar players get to participate in the final of the World Championships.
The competitors take part in the competition at their own risk.
9. National qualifying competitions
There can only be one official national qualifying competition per country. This status is granted by the Oulu Music Video Festival through an agreement with the organiser. The national competitions may include qualifying rounds for example in different states. The winners of national competitions are guaranteed direct access to the final of the Air Guitar World Championships without qualifying. The organisers of the National Championships will agree to respect the ideology of air guitar playing and this declaration as Official Rules and judging criteria, and will commit themselves to spread the ideology in their own regional competitions.
10. Prizes
The main prize of the Air Guitar World Championships is a genuine electric guitar.
11. The obligations of the World Champion
The Air Guitar World Champion selected annually in Oulu must carry the joyful tidings of the Air Guitar forward and thus promote world peace.

Me and my brother went to Whistler Blackcomb on Friday and Sunday. For those that don't know what Whistler Blackcomb is, its two mountains with over 70+ ski / snowboarding runs between the two mountains.

Friday was extremely poor conditions, low visibility, raining near the base of the mountain, and icy conditions. Sunday however was 1000x better. Some fresh snow came down Saturday night and covered the mountains with about 6 to 12 inches of fresh powder. While on the Blackcomb mountain, just below the Blackcomb glacier, me and my brother witnessed an avalanche. Wasn't that big, but was still extremely impressive. A chunk of snowpack approx. 20m wide x 10m high x 5m thick slid off the peak of the glacier. Attached is a pic of me standing on top of one of the larger chunks that survived the slide. The slide itself travelled about 1/2 a mile down the mountain before coming to rest in a small bowl.

Other than that the day was excellent. Dunno if anyone else ski's / snowboards. Just thought I'd share this experience.

Im sure many have seen or heard about some of the jump servers/jump maps that are out there..... recently me and a few other people have discussed putting some on the 6th server so we can mess around and have fun without the constant supply of asshats in the Euro servers.... but if your not really sure of where to get all the jump maps you can go here.... http://www.urt.unfoog.de/q3ut4/

i think its fun to mess around on these maps when not many other people are playing.... i feel it also helps your movement during actual game play as well. i think it really helps being able to move quickly through the maps while maintaining control.

If anyone is interested in jumping, or even learning how for those that havent tried it.... the basic concept is easy to learn just takes a little practice to start getting good hope to see more of you jumping soon Happy frags everyone.

I plan on making flash cartoons some of the characters based on Nightmare members. Core of the site is up but it may be a month before my first cartoon goes up. Damn I need Casualty's advice on how to sound like a woman heheh. So far my only problems is making female voices.

- To use a Site Provided Avatar, goto your Settings panel and choose one from the list provided by clicking on the Choose Avatar button, click on one that you like, then click the Save Settings button.

Today, I woke up early as usual. When I was going to have breakfast I slipped on the stairs and got a big whack on my head.

To calm me down, my wife gave me a cup of coffee; I burned my tongue because it was too damn hot.

For all those thinking of upgrading to Windows Vista when it comes out in January, if you love to play Urban Terror... don't do it. I have been beta testing Vista since early this year, and through the whole development process, Vista has never suppored Punkbuster in Quake 3. As soon as you type in "/pb_cl_enable" in the console, Quake 3/Urban Terror locks up. You have to CTRL+ALT+DEL and kill the process to get out.

Just a friendly heads up.

PS: Punkbuster seems to work fine in all other games I tested under Vista.

So this is a weird bug I have. Its really a minor annoyance than anything. I'm using some of the configs posted by Kr0m and SystemApe, they really fixed a lot of my problems, and I'm actually able to hit again. The problem I'm having now with my FPS happens 99% of the time when I first join a game. My FPS is locked at 85, but normally displays around 91 to 92. If I uncap it, it'll go as high as 400 in some places, and higher if I stare at the ground. So when I join a server, my FPS will start somewhere around 30 to 40. I have to then stare at the ground for 30 to 60 seconds, once it hits 91/92 FPS I can then look up and it'll stay running that fast. Otherwise it'll go back down to 30 or 40. Sometimes moving around while I'm staring at the ground help get it up to 90+ faster.

I'm running an autoexec.cfg which only contains my networking and miscellaneous settings. I have another config called MK.cfg that executes after the autoexec.cfg. In MK.cfg I have my bindings, gear, video, and audio settings. Q3config.cfg is as far as I know, not used, though I'm sure its access when the game starts, but all settings in it are over-written by my two configs. Occasionally it will not go above 40 fps no matter how long I stare at the ground in-game. When this happens I usually quit, delete q3config.cfg and then restart the game, and it works fine after that. Usually find myself deleting q3config.cfg every 5 to 10 time I start the game.

As I said, this isn't a huge problem, just a minor annoyance more than anything. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them.

Chad Kroeger from Nickelback had a hand in getting these guys on the move. I first seen them on a TV show where they did a first ever appearance on national TV, an acoustic ersion of their first hit "Wasting My Time" before it became a hit. I knew right then and there that these guys were going to do well.

The president confirmed that the bet was the same as the one made the day before. Then the elderly woman asked him to drop his pants etc. so that she and her lawyer could see clearly.

The president was happy to oblige.

The elderly woman came closer so she could see better and asked the president if she could touch them. "Of course," said the president "Given the amount of money involved, you should be 100% sure."

The elderly woman did so with a little smile. Suddenly the president noticed that the lawyer was banging his head against the wall. He asked the elderly woman why he was doing that and she replied, "Oh, it's probably because I bet him $100,000 that around 10 o'clock in the morning I would be holding the balls of the President of the Bank of Canada!"

What can I say about these guys... Legends. The epitome of Rock n Roll (at least for the 70s). I was 3 years old when I first heard these guys on their live album, Caught In the Act, which I've yet to hear a Live album from anyone that would even come close to this one. This album and Cheap Trick's Live at Budokan got me hooked on music at an early age although I didn't have much choice as I had it blasting in my ears every weekend. By the time I was old enough to do so, I'd be playing these records on my own on my mother's stereo!

I finally found this CD in 1999 at a FutureShop store, I almost pissed my pants cause I was looking for a copy of it for ages. One thing that I noticed about it right away, was that the song T.N.U.C. was cut in half... it was missing about 8 minutes of a drum solo. I was so pissed that I actually emailed the publishers of the CD and complained about it. They claimed it was cut short due to recording restrictions at the time and couldn't fit it on the CD? Anyhow, to this day, I still listen to these guys. I've heard their studio recordings of the same songs but for some reason they don't close to the sound of this Live album.

ok well first off im not the most technical person when it comes to computers. this is my first one of my own and im slowly learning as i go. as of lately ive noticed that everyone seems to have a decent graphics card as well as a sufficient amount of ram, compaired to me anyways. im going to list my computer specs here, i have been poking my nose around a bit for a new machine but not sure exactly of what is good and what is not. like i said i dont really have too much knowledge about pcs or the terms they use to describe what the component is. here is what i have now...... Operating System - Miscrosoft Windows XP Home Edition; System model - dell. Dimension 8300; Bios - Default System Bios; Processor - Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHZ, ~2.6GHZ; Memory - 512MB RAM; Page File - 263MB used 984MB available. As some will know, it's from the 80's Miami Vice TV soundtrack. It's origrinally done by Phil Collins.

It was redone for the movie sound track in 2006 for Miami Vice, starring Colin Farrell & Jamie Foxx. A band called "Nonpoint" (south Florida I think) did it for the soundtrack. Kicks ass!

i had a question about refresh rates........... what does everyone set their refresh rate at.....

my card/monitor can support up to 75 hertz...... should i set it as something lower in game as well as on my machine.... or should i set it to the max my card/monitor can support ?

Iâ€™m writing this to all my Urban Terror brothers and sisters. We have all been playing this game for a very long time and from time to time we have dealt with ass@#$â€™s on the servers. Those of us lucky enough to be adminâ€™s usually get great satisfaction kicking these bastages off the server. But because we all like to visit different servers (or these days find populated ones) we have been there at one time or another when someone starts fu$%#ing with people and/or an entire team. They TK or call votes to kick and/or change maps constantly. The worst of them change their names to match someone elseâ€™s on the server and begin to TK so that others will put up a vote to get you kicked or even banned in some instances.

I have 3 of the most notorious offenders listed below. This is only a sampling of the servers they haunt. But as you will see they have been up to this for a very long time. They have used our names even when we havenâ€™t been on the server. Most of us are not kids anymore and we play this game because we enjoy it. We have jobs and families that take up a lot of our time. So when we finally get a chance to jump on and play we want to enjoy ourselves and not deal with these ass@#$â€™s.

So I write this note asking that we band together to do what we can to put the word out to all who run Urban Terror servers so they can add these GUIDâ€™s to their â€œBANâ€? lists so we may enjoy what little time we have left for playing this fine game. This is the ultimate pay back! Please ban them from your servers and pass the word. I will be posting this in our forum as well as most of the Urban Terror forums still in use and if they donâ€™t have forums I will be emailing the leaders of their clans directly.

Well more than I expected to do to it and long from finished. Couple peeps inquired about my new master piece. I will show what I have so far. The ending will be a surprise. I am still modeling DarthVader with a baseball bat. Don't ask.

If a few of you while getting a sneak peak would give me some feedback on how it looks on your computer it is so far compressed considering the original was over 900mb for such a short clip due to the quality of rendering. It is pimp but HUGE.

All of the models I done EXCEPT the Millineum Falcon. I got the MF online. All the sounds came from the actual movie just cut and edited.

Got any ideas for new cycle? Give us your ideas please. Seems to me when I change it people complain, they complain about anything really. I guess I like maps no one else does. Im pretty bored with the same old maps over and over and if you are too post here!! a map cycle consist of more than just put on casa it has details in the cfg so Im going to show you and want you to write one if interested.

This is just what one map looks like in cfg. G_gear is weapons you can use on server. some exaples:
1 = no nades
2 = no snipers
4 = no spas
8 = no pistols
16 = no autos
32 = no negavs

add all the ones you dont want to use together to turn them off ex if you added all together would be 63= knives only. 55= pistols only
So I hope you are good with math

you can choose timelimit but you must alter both sections.
you can add onjoin messages, funny ones will be used!!
and last of all respawn delay.

I got something interesting in one of my newsletters the other day...

Use Vista's 'upgrade' version to clean-install

The secret is that the setup program in Vista's upgrade version will accept an installed copy of XP, W2K, or an unactivated copy of Vista itself as evidence of a previous installation.

This enables you to "clean install" an upgrade version of Vista to any formatted or unformatted hard drive, which is usually the preferred method when installing any new operating system. You must, in essence, install Vista twice to take advantage of this trick. But Vista installs much faster than XP, so it's quicker than installing XP followed by Vista to get the upgrade price.

Before you install Vista on a machine that you don't know is 100% compatible, you should run Microsoft's free Upgrade Advisor. This program â€” which operates only on 32-bit versions of XP and Vista (plus Vista Enterprise) â€” reports to you on any hardware or software it finds that may be incompatible with Vista. See Microsoft's Upgrade Advisor page.

Also, to see which flavors of XP Home, XP Pro, and 2000 officially support in-place installs and clean installs of the different Vista editions, see Microsoft's upgrade paths page.

Here's a simplified overview of the steps that are required to clean-install the upgrade version of Vista:

Step 1. Boot the PC from the Vista DVD.

Step 2. Select "Install Now," but do not enter the Product Key from the Vista packaging. Leave the input box blank. Also, turn off the option Automatically activate Windows when I'm online. In the next dialog box that appears, confirm that you really do want to install Vista without entering a Product Key.

Step 3. Correctly indicate the version of Vista that you're installing: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate.

Step 4. Select the "Custom (Advanced)" install, not the "Upgrade" install.

Step 5. Vista copies files at length and reboots itself one or more times. Wait for the install to complete. At this point, you might think that you could "activate" Vista, but you can't. That's because you haven't installed the Vista upgrade yet. To do that, run the DVD's setup.exe program again, but this time from the Vista desktop. The easiest way to start setup again is to eject and then reinsert the DVD.

Step 6. Click "Install Now." Select Do not get the latest updates for installation. (You can check for these updates later.)

Step 7. This time, do enter the Product Key from the Vista packaging. Once again, turn off the option Automatically activate Windows when I'm online.

Step 8. On this second install, make sure to select "Upgrade," not "Custom (Advanced)." You're not doing a clean install now, you're upgrading to Vista.

Step 9. Wait while Vista copies files and reboots itself. No user interaction is required. Do not boot from the DVD when asked if you'd like to do so. Instead, wait a few seconds and the setup process will continue on its way. Some DOS-like, character-mode menus will appear, but don't interact with them. After a few seconds, the correct choice will run for you automatically.

Step 10. After you click a button labeled Start in the Thank You dialog box, Vista's login screen will eventually appear. Enter the username and password that you selected during the first install. You're done upgrading to Vista.

Step 11. Within 30 days, you must "activate" your copy of Vista or it'll lose functionality. To activate Vista, click Show more details in the Welcome Center that automatically displays upon each boot-up, then click Activate Windows now. If you've dismissed the Welcome Center, access the correct dialog box by clicking Start, Control Panel, System & Maintenance, System. If you purchased a legitimate copy of Vista, it should quickly activate over the Internet. (You can instead activate by calling Microsoft on the phone, which avoids your PC exchanging information with Microsoft's server.)

I'm not going into detail today on the merits of buying Vista at retail instead of buying a cheaper OEM copy. (The OEM offerings don't entitle you to call Microsoft for support, while the retail packages do.) Also, I'm not touching here on the least-expensive way to buy Vista, which is to take advantage of Microsoft's "educational" rate. I'll describe both of these topics in next week's newsletter.

Why does Vista's secret setup exist?

It's reasonable for us to ask ourselves whether buying an upgrade version of Vista, and then installing it to an empty hard disk that contains no previous version of Windows, is ethical.

I believe it is. Microsoft itself created the upgrade process. The company designed Vista to support upgrading it over a previously installed copy of XP, W2K Pro, or Vista itself. This isn't a black-hat hacker exploit. It's something that's been deliberately programmed into the approved setup routine.

Microsoft spent years developing and testing Vista. This upgrade trick must have been known to many, many people within the development team. Either Microsoft planned this upgrade path all along, knowing that computer magazines and newsletters (like this one) would widely publicize a way to "save money buying Vista." Or else some highly placed coders within the Vista development team decided that Vista's "full" price was too high and that no one should ever have to pay it. In either case, Vista's setup.exe is Microsoft's official install routine, and I see no problem with using it exactly as it was designed.

We should also think about whether instances of Vista that were installed using the clean-install method will continue to operate. I believe that this method will continue to be present in Vista DVDs at least until Microsoft begins distributing the Service Pack 1 edition of Vista around fall 2007. Changing the routine in the millions of DVDs that are now in circulation would simply be too wrenching. And trying to remotely disable instances of Vista that were clean-installed â€” even if it were technically possible to distinguish them â€” would generate too many tech-support calls and too much ill will to make it worthwhile.

Installing the upgrade version of Vista, but not installing over an existing instance of XP or W2K, probably violates the Vista EULA (end-user license agreement). If you're a business executive, I wouldn't recommend that you flout any Windows license provisions just to save money.

If you're strictly a home user, contributing editor Susan Bradley points out that Microsoft's so-called Vista Family Discount (VFD) is an economical package that avoids any license issues. If you buy a retail copy of Vista Ultimate, MS lets you upgrade up to two additional PCs to Vista Home Premium for $50 each. For example, if you buy the upgrade version of Ultimate for $225, the grand total after you add two Home Premiums is $335. That's about $133 less than buying three upgrade versions of Home Premium. Details are at Microsoft's VFD page.

Microsoft did revise a Knowledge Base article, number 930985, on Jan. 31 that obliquely refers to the upgrade situation. It simply states that an upgrade version of Vista can't perform a clean install when a PC is booted from the Vista DVD. A clean install will only work, the document says, when the Vista setup is run from within an older version of Windows (or if a full version of Vista is being used).

This article doesn't at all deal with the fact that the Vista upgrade version will in fact clean-install using the steps described above. It'll be interesting to see whether MS ever explains why these steps were programmed in.

Personally, I consider Vista's ability to upgrade over itself to be Digital Rights Management that actually benefits consumers. It's almost cosmic justice.

we inherited a computer that was my father in-laws. eMachines w3107. its an ok set up....newer than mine. it needs a video card though (eventually). so i cracked open the case to put in a wireless card and to see what mb was in it. Fic k8mc51g. looked at power supply too 300w (weak) but i noticed that the board is 24 pin and ps is 20 pin. you can do that?!? just wondering. never seen that before.

If anyone is looking for hosting, let me know. I have a web server up that I'm selling hosting on. DarthNader has a site on it, as does Hybridesque. Its a linux based server. Comes with a control panel for your domain that lets you modify things like subdomains, ftp accounts, mysql databases, mysql users, email accounts, secure directories, etc.

Depending on what you need, the price will vary. For a basic site with php, 1 mysql db/user, 1 ftp, and 5 email accounts, I'd charge $40/year. You'd be given 1GB of space, and allowed 50GB transfer / month.

THE OLD OUTHOUSE

Once there was a little boy that lived in the country. They had
to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it because it was hot
in the summer and cold in the winter and stank all the time. The
outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy said that

so yea heres the traffic stop that i was last week, had some fire arrms taken that were perfectly legal, unfortunately our own police wasnt aware of that. this is only 1 of the 3 ar-15's that we had amongst the other firearms we also had. 1 H&K Usp 40. 1 SigSauer Sp2022 .40, 1 tokarev 9mm, 1 12g Mossberg 500 7shot pistol grip, and finally last but never lease the Gold Plated .50 cal Desert Eagle A.E.

lately I was playing around with my system and found that proper settings of you video card might drastically improve your score and stats... so here, I am sharing my secret with you...

First make sure you have the latest Forceware drivers from nvidia.com, don't trust people who tell you u should use older drivers coz with new ones UrT works worse - NOT TRUE! get the latest drivers for your motherboard and for your video card.

Reboot, turn off all crapware that u can't live without on daily basis. That weatherbug application is really useless, for example.

right click on ur desktop -> Nvidia control panel -> make sure u set it to advanced settings -> manage 3d settings -> Program settings -> add a program (navigate to ur urban terror folder and select file ioUrbanTerror.exe -> confirm. Then from the list of programs, select ioUrbanTerror.exe in the window below u will see the following features:

anisotropic filtering - 16x (Lowend cards set to - OFF)
antialiasing gamma correction - ON (Lowend cards set to - OFF)
antialias mode - Override any app settings
antialias setting - 4 (Lowend cards set to - OFF)
antialias transparency - Multisampling (Lowend cards set to - OFF)
conformant texture clamp - Use Hardware
Error reporting - OFF
Extension limit - OFF
Force mipmaps - Trilinear
Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration - Single display mode (setting it to Multiple might decrease overall performance)
Texture filtering Negative LOD bias - Allow
Texture filtering Quality - High Quality (Lowend cards set to - Performance)
Threaded optimization - OFF (u might test it with ON)
Tripple buffering - OFF
Texture filtering - Anisotropic mip filter optimization - OFF (this might b on as well, but it's up to u)
Vertical sync - Force OFF

set it all up and check how ur game performs. remember to set the fps in the game to com_maxfps 120 ...

above settings shall make ur game much more responsive, eliminate fps lag and make game smooth to play.

Hey guys i have a quick question maybe someone might know the answer too. well ive noticed that every time i try to download a pk3 or zip file for UT4, it downloads the file but it is 0 kb's in size, meaning i never got the file just the name. it does this regardless of where i download, FSK, MapDepot, or any random server hosts. it will d.l the file but it will always be 0kb's unless i download it with Internet Explorer in that case it works fine and i receive the full file. i know what your thinking.... just use Internet Explorer, i do but id also like to solve this problem with FireFox....... any suggestions ?

TIPS OF THE DECADE:

Reheat Pizza
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set
heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy

If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something
inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or
two.
Voila! It unseals easily.

Conditioner
Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's a lot cheaper than
shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to

Good-bye Fruit Flies
To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass fill it 1/2" with

Get Rid of Ants
Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it
"home," & can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, esp.
if it rains, but it works & you don't have the worry about pets or small
children being harmed!

Take Baby Powder to the Beach
Keep a small bottle of baby powder in your beac h bag. When you're ready
to leave the beach sprinkle yourself and kids with the powder and the sand
will slide right off your skin.

HOW TO SAVE THE AIRLINES:

Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place.

Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers!
What the hell -- They don't even serve food anymore, so what's the
loss?

The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a "party
atmosphere" going in the cabin. And, of course, every businessman in
this country would start flying again, hoping to see naked women.

Because of the tips, female flight attendants wouldn't need a salary,
thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we
could charge the women for working the plane and have them kick back
20% of the tips, including lap dances and "special services."

Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing naked
women Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airline
industry would see record revenues. This is definitely a win-win
situation if we handle it right -- a golden opportunity to turn a
liability into an asset.

ok so i wanted to make my own movie....... dont know really where to start but i know i need to convert my dm_68 demos to avi or mpeg or something similar so i may edit them and clip the videos..... i have heard of fraps... but i have also heard that it sucks... LOL. so anyone have any ideas of how to convert the quake demos ? i want to ultimately make a frag video, compilation of a few maps, add a song to play in the background. basic stuff really, although i am a begginer to it all. any help, comments or info will help. thanks guys

I recently have spoken with people such as, autobot and Locustthelurker about possibly joining this clan. They told me I should post a thread here. First let me tell you a little about my Urban Terror experience.

I like others with Macs soon find out that there are hardly any good games created for them, one of my friends showed me UT which has been a fun and exciting experience. However, for me its more than just a game its a community and I thought all along that I would like to be part of a clan. I know however that this does not always work out too well for fairly new members to a new game. I have not been playing for more than a month and I would at least like to give it a shot at getting in, I dont know what you guys will have me do but i can assure you I will put an open mind and encouraging atmosphere to the clan.

hey guys, if you're that bored that you'll play Guild Wars, why not try Warrock? FPS game with decent weapons system, vehichle combat, and several other cool features. still somewhat buggy, but no worse that Urt.... hit detection is better anyway lol

What ever happened to the hamburgler?

I hooked up a new PC yesterday and loaded Urban terror up on it, I just moved all the files over the network and execute it, loaded fine and loaded a server smoothly, however about 3 - 5 seconds into the game it locks up for about 20 seconds then its ok for about another 5 seconds, if its on a sound it repeasts the sound over and over again while it is locked up. I have seen this before but I cant remember which aspect of the PC was couasing it. I have no extra processes running in XP, I have no programs running, its an NVIDIA 5500 so I changed out the drivers on that, I havent tried any older drivers yet but that is next, I havent tried disabling sound yet but I did set the sound on directX to basic accelleration in dxiag. ummm I am not familiar with the entwork card setting for this network card I cants see the duplex options on this they arent there...but im not sure If I should mess with them Im not sure what these options do. at anyrate ive got some more testing to do I was just going to see if anyone was familioar with this behaviour?

Over past few years FSK405 has enjoyed gathering Sunday nights for inclan scrims. Due to summer real life activities our attendance has been down so we are opening up our scrims to anyone that wants to participate.

? How does it work ?
Quite simple actually, just like picking teams for a game of kickball. Once we have at least 10 players we ask for a couple volunteers to be captains. We then move the 2 chosen captain into a private team-speak channel along with a moderator. First, The captains agree on the map they want to play. Secondly the moderator selects a number 1-50, the captain closest to the number either gets first player pick or map side. The captains then pick players one at a time until all the players have been selected. After the map and teams have been selected to divide into the appropriate team speak channel, the captains captain up, set the strats, and we play.

We have been running a modified version of the STA config with 20 minute rounds, no respawn protection, and a longer flag return time. A great way to have some fun organized play during the off season.

There was this couple who live out in the mountains in the middle of nowhere. They were starting to get older, and Junior was growing up quick. They see a big beautiful wood desk, people dressed in fine clothes, a giant chandelier hanging 2 story high from the ceiling. As the walk in a little farther, they see couches and tables with books, Paw and Junior just look at each other in wonder. As they turn the corner, they notice an older well dressed woman standing mid-hall staring at the wall. So they walk up to see what is going on. Just then they here a ding. A strange door slides open all on its own. Paw and Junior take a couple weary steps back. The door closes and the women is gone. Paw and Junior stare at each other for a moment. FTW League (For the Win) is a new North American league that hopes to host all 3 major gametypes: Bomb, CTF, and TS. Currently we are hiring admins in all 3 divisions, and would love to see 6th involved in the app process because I know there are some good people here. Can someone please translate whatever message Russa is trying to convey into something that I might better be able to understand, like Yiddish or that Bushman clicking language? As it stands, I have no idea whether Russa is seriously claiming that anyone who dares to catalogue his swindles and perversions can expect to suffer hair loss and tooth decay as a result or if it's simply the case that there is much more of this to come. Perhaps before going on, I should describe Russa to you. Russa is puerile, sneaky, and repressive. Furthermore, he yearns to foment a radical realignment of industrialized economies. Although I've been called worse things by better people, we must remove our chains and move towards the light. (In case you didn't understand that analogy, the chains symbolize Russa's callous opinions and the light represents the goal of getting all of us to build a sane and healthy society free of his destructive influences.) He needs to internalize the external truth that he evinces a bulldog-like instinct for going after the jugular of his intended victims. And I can say that with a clear conscience because he is battening on us. As an interesting experiment, try to point this out to Russa. (You might want to don safety equipment first.) I think you'll find that if he is going to make an emotional appeal then he should also include a rational argument.

For what it's worth, either Russa has no real conception of the sweep of history, or he is merely intent on winning some debating pin by trying to pierce a hole in my logic with "facts" that are taken out of context. You should know that it's not yet illegal to investigate his ugly principles, ideals, and objectives. Russa's working on that, though. I suspect that by the next full moon, we'll no longer be allowed to state in public that Russa has been trying to convince us that teetotalism brings one closer to nirvana. This pathetic attempt to stifle the voices of those who are simply seeking to be heard deserves no comment other than to say that Russa's diabolic conclusions have caused scapegoatism-oriented profiteers to descend upon us like a swarm of locusts, forcing me to leave the country. He managed to convince a bunch of the worst sorts of sniffish conspiracy theorists there are to help him trivialize the entire issue. What was the quid pro quo there? Here's the answer, albeit in a somewhat circuitous and roundabout style: Many people are convinced that he considers it fair game to erode constitutional principles that have shaped our society and remain at the core of our freedom and liberty. I can't comment on that but I can say that Russa accuses me of being a liar. The only proven liar around here, however, is Russa. Only a die-hard liar like Russa could claim that he has achieved sainthood. The truth, in case you haven't already figured it out, is that he is not the only one who needs to reassess his assumptions. Think about mischievous manipulators of the public mind. They too should realize that what we have been imparting to him—or what he has been eliciting from us—is a half-submerged, barely intended logic, contaminated by wishes and tendencies we prefer not to acknowledge.

I contend that it can be safely said that Russa works like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow and advancing his noiseless step like a thief until he manages to brainwash the masses into submission. Your guess is as good as mine as to why he wants to promote a meretricious Pyrrhonism. Maybe it's because he plans to contravene decency. I hope that humanity will rid this earth of lethargic, untrustworthy slobs with the greatest dispatch, since otherwise, the earth might well become rid of humanity. He is all too typical of the sort of lackadaisical, insipid prigs who create a world sunk in the most abject superstition, fanaticism, and ignorance, and that's one reason why I'm writing this letter.

Idle hands are the devil's tools. That's why Russa spends his leisure time devising ever more jaundiced ways to cultivate an unhealthy sense of victimhood. Does he have a point? I obviously doubt it. Last summer, I attempted what I knew would be a hopeless task. I tried to convince Russa that society should recognize that my only goal in writing this letter and others concerning Russa is to communicate and teach. As I expected, Russa was thoroughly unconvinced. Okay, this letter has become much too long so I'll just jump right to the punchline: I shall spare no effort to lift our nation from the quicksand of injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.

This question should be in Tech but there hasn't been any action in there since June 1st and I didn't want it to go unanswered.

I was on ts last night and a few of you where talking about upgrades. well I am a noob to online gaming (14 months) and was wondering if I should get some better gear or a gaming only computer. The only online game I play now is UT. So here is what I have and any and all help is appreciated.

I currently am running this set up, a Gateway DX4710-05 it runs Vista 64bit with a 600W Corsair PS and an ATI Radeon HD 4800 card. It is set to GPU clock 750MHz. I just got a new Mamba mouse (had the Death Adder) I have a Lycosa key board. An ASUS 24" HD monitor 2ms. Other than that it is all stock.

So what tweaks should I make?

Hey fellas,

I know I'm the new guy but I just wanted to put this out there.

Every day when I get on; the 6th server is empty. Today I decided to go there and wait for a player to come and they did. I think we as a clan should put forth the effort to play on our server when ever possible. So from now on I will go there and wait for more of you to show up. I think if we all do it and wait maybe 10 min each. That at some point we can get the server popular.

This is just an opinion but I am going to do it and I hope you guys will follow so that there will always be one of us on our server.

If you are like me, you reload your OS several times a year. Although, this has become less necessary with Windows 7, the following link is a slick time saver for the reloader.

Go here, choose the apps you normally install and they are downloaded and installed for you. Any options, like toolbars, etc, are declined.

I despise automated stuff like this because it generally has a bunch of hidden garbage. But dis one is good.

Someone from a long time ago (prolly kras or h8tank) had pictures of cats that had a feeding tube and a waste tube coming out of them and they were "grown" in clear plastic cases or squares. It was rather funny and mean...I have some animal lovers at work id like to send pictures to or say i bought them a cat in a box, lol

We Um3 guys would like to challenge you, 6th|Floor, to a CTF match this Thursday at 6 pm PDT. Exact specs are negotiable. We'd like to practice with you all for this coming week's match.
